My Journey at Bangkit 2024 Batch 2 🎓🚀

A reflection on my learning, growth, and experience.

Hi! I'm Naufal Harits Prasetia, a graduate of the University of Darussalam Gontor and a proud alumnus of Bangkit 2024 Batch 2, majoring in Machine Learning. I joined this program from September to December 2024, and it turned out to be one of the most valuable and transformative experiences in my personal and academic journey.

📘 Learning from Scratch, Growing Beyond Limits

When I first got accepted into Bangkit, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. Known for its rigorous and industry-aligned curriculum, Bangkit is a program supported by Google, Tokopedia, Gojek, and Traveloka under the Kampus Merdeka initiative.

In the Machine Learning path, I explored everything from foundational Python and math, to deep learning, TensorFlow, and deploying ML models on Google Cloud Platform. The journey wasn’t always easy, but it was incredibly rewarding.

Besides technical knowledge, I developed crucial soft skills that I believe are just as important:

  • Time Management: Balancing Bangkit with university courses taught me how to manage my priorities and stay disciplined.
  • Growth Mindset: I learned to embrace challenges and view failure as an opportunity to grow.
  • Teamwork & Leadership: Collaborating with students from diverse backgrounds taught me how to communicate, lead, and adapt in a team setting.

💡 Capstone Project: Centung

Centung Project

The highlight of my Bangkit journey was the Capstone Project, where I worked with a multidisciplinary team to build a real-world solution.

We created Centung — Stunting Risk Prediction Application.
Centung is an innovative digital solution designed to predict and address the risk of stunting in children. By leveraging key health indicators such as nutritional intake, parental health history, and environmental factors, Centung empowers caregivers and healthcare professionals with real-time insights into a child's growth and development.

Centung reflects how technology, when built with purpose, can create meaningful social impact.

🧠 What I Gained from Bangkit

Bangkit taught me more than just how to code or build models. It taught me how to think critically, collaborate effectively, and grow continuously.

It pushed me beyond my comfort zone, introduced me to a national network of passionate learners, and gave me a sense of what it means to build something that matters. I now feel more confident—not just as a Machine Learning developer, but as a future contributor to the tech industry.
